There are so many achievements that I can't imagine the time it would take to earn all of them. Imagine how many weeks I would have had to play to reach this point. One of the achievements based on completing levels had 3 stages, the final one being completing 1,000 levels. Some of the achievements are based on how many levels you complete in total and in a given amount of time. Once a certain number of stars have accumulated, you level up and receive an additional 10,000 coins. The fish need to be fed and the aquariums cleaned periodically, earning XP stars. The fish talk to you and among themselves and the dialog is witty and fun. When you purchase a fish, and there are lots to choose from, you can select the between male or female and a name for it. There is an inventory where you can put fish, ornaments or plants to transfer to another aquarium, hold for future sale, or just earn an achievement, the maximum being having 50 items in inventory. One of my stopping points was to earn the achievement of having 7 aquariums at the maximum level. You can continue to work on any given aquarium endlessly selling fish, ornaments and plants, replacing them with different ones, changing backgrounds, etc., etc. That doesn't mean the aquarium is finished, it just means that is the highest level that results in achievements. The maximum level of an aquarium is 12 fish and 3 gold cups. Each gold cup increases the aquarium's capacity for fish by 3. The accumulation of beauty points earns the aquarium gold trophy cups for beauty. There is one background that offers a moon-like theme that is very unique.Īdding fish, ornaments and plants earn XP points and "beauty" points. There are 8 backgrounds in all, my favorite being the farm one and the Japanese one. Some of the ornaments are funny and are grouped to fit into an aquarium with a specific background. The variety of fish, ornaments and plants is amazing. First is the purchase of the aquarium, then a background, adding fish, ornaments and plants to decorate it. These coins can then be used to purchase items to build an aquarium from the ground up. Many of these actions in the grids also relate to earning various achievements.Ĭompleting the Match 3 grids earns coins of various amounts (1500 to over 6000) based on actions completed, like uncovering gold/diamond tiles and freeing artifacts and "pieces". The Match 3 grids are complicated with lots of obstacles to remove, specific tiles to release, power ups to be used, etc. I played a lot of hours over weeks to get to that point.

This is the second game in the series that I have played and both times I had to decide how many achievements I wanted to earn before I finally quit playing. THE ONLY GAME YOU WILL EVER NEED I wonder if there is ever an end to this game. since you can't get rid of the timer on that one, and the fish aren't as cute (or smart).Īll in all a good game, if you like match 3 and playing something relaxing which allows you to be creative. The game is also nicer than the original Fishdom. Also, the playing board is larger, so that you're not constantly frustrated because of reshuffles (and worse) due to the lack of matching objects. The rewards for game play are well balanced, unlike Fishdom's "Depths of Time". There are 8 different themes, each with their own backgrounds and objects, which can be mixed and matched. You can buy as many aquariums as you want, fill them with lots of themed objects and attractive plants, and put up to 12 fish in each aquarium. When you think you've seen everything they do/say, they come up with something new. The game can be played with or without a timer, which makes it quite nice for all types of players.įor those who don't know, the little fishies are cute, interact with each other, and with you. Often, the chain "explosions" in that sort of level are spectacular. but if you look closely at the setup before you begin making matches, you can see what you have to do to complete the level. I'm currently on board level 345, and I'm level 39. The levels have been repeating for a while now, so I'm confident that I've see all of them.

Best of the Fishdom series so far In spite of some reviews I saw above, there are *no* "impossible" levels.
